Time to relax, unwind and enjoy the spoils of victory at the end of one of the most successful tournaments ever - it was great to see Jamie Walton and Jay Patel, (two of the club's most loyal supporters), get in money at November's Main Event. Along with designated winner Paul Linton, Jamie and Jay each picked up £5,000 in cash.
Edina and Ashleigh were the club's glamorous representatives at this year's Best Bar None awards held at the Croydon Hilton when black tie, ball gowns and champagne were the order of the day. It was a very well-deserved night out for our lovely ladies who have worked so hard this year to ensure that we can all enjoy the benefits of an effeciently run club. It was their efforts that secured the club's Croydon Best Bar None Accreditation. Well done girls!

In anticipation of new regulations due to come into effect later this year, we are extending our 'cooling-off' period from 24 to 48hrs. This means that in future new members will not receive full membership status until 48hrs after the time of their application to join.

Start Times - Ammendment
Those arriving late should be aware that we reserve the right to give their seats away to people on the reserve list who are already in the club. This very much applies to the Friday tournaments.
Many members have complained about the evening tournaments starting late. The main reason for this has been that a lot members fail to turn up on time and the tournaments are being held up waiting for them to arrive. The Management Committee feels that this is unfair on those who make it on time and has therefore decided that something has to be be done.
ALL tournaments will start at the scheduled time, which in most cases is 8.30pm. At this time, play will commence and all chips will be on the table and subject to the blinds. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this rule.
In addition to the strict implementation of the scheduled start times, it has also been decided that any players failing to take their seats in Rebuy Tournaments before the end of the second level will pay double the normal registration fee. (For example - anyone faling to arrive before the end of the second level for a £10 Rebuy will pay £20 to register). NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this rule.
For those new to the cash game and those who prefer to play for lower stakes, The Big Slick Players Club is introducing a new lower limit cash game. The structure is Pot Limit Texas hold'em, with a minimum sit down of £25 and a maximum of £50. The blinds will be £1 - £1. All games will be dealer-dealt.
