| Demonstrating that speed isn't everything, the club's favourite gastropod Doug Alley won Friday's poker tournament, picking up £900 in cash and a Main Event Ticket worth £200 along with maximum Super League points. Speaking in an interview after his triumph, our merry mollusc modestly maintained that speed wasn't everything. Chris Chaney came second last night and collected a handy £900. No doubts about the winner of Monday's poker tournament. There were no deals and no carve-ups, as the marauding monochromatic marvel that is Panda Patel ruthlessley tore down the opposition on his way to a first prize of £570 cash and maximum Super League points. The Panda is currently riding at number 21 spot in the league and well on the way to a place in the Vegas Shoot-Out. This is an official warning - Panda Alert! !
Second last night was Samir El Husseini; he picked up £300. Samir is currrently 36th in the league and well inside the play-off zone. Altan Mourat ran in third to take £190 - he is sitting near the top of the table in 9th place with 435pts.
With only 50pts separating places 54 to 81 - it'is still all to play for.

The top three finishers at the end of Tuesday's £40 Deep-Stack Special shared the spoils with Chas Brook, Jimmy Penfold and Daniel Wornex each settling for £700 in cash, before playing on for a Main Event ticket worth £200. Chas it was who eventually ran out the winner and secured his place on Saturday 18th April when the prize pool will be a guaranteed £20,000. The 40pts he won last night takes the two-times former league champion total to 160pts. Are we going to see a late charge from Mr Brooks?

The top three at the end of Wednesday's poker tournament carved up most of the prize money between them - each settling for £266. Gary Matthews was officially placed first and gained maximum Super League points, keeping him inside the top ten on the leader board. Younes Jerdioui claimed second spot - the league points he won further improve his chances of making the Vegas Play-off. The first 54 places will make it into the freeroll. Younes is in the pack sitting just outside the freeroll zone, but still very much in striking distance. Third place went to Steve Chaplin. Steve is riding high in the top ten on the leader board.
