Winner Richard Savage and runner-up Robbie Moubert cavrved up the top money at the end of Saturday's tournie - Richard taking £600, Robbie £500. In addition, Robbie picked up yet more league points, keeping him at number 4 in the table and a certainty for the Amsterdam Play-Off scheduled for Wednesday 28th October. Dave Morris ran out third last night to win £200.

Further damage was inflicted upon the poker tables of Purley last night, as the Destroyer continued in its campaign of pillage and mayhem. Since its recent return to the club, the mighty one has notched up three wins and a number of final table appearances. By the end of Sunday's £30 Semi-FreezeOut, it had added another £400 to the total cash already looted from the tables. Despite the late entry into the Amsterdam league, who would now bet against the Destroyer making it into the Play-Off. Sharing the plunder last night was Hannah Richings (currently 7th in the league), who also took £400. Chas Brook, lying just outside the Cutt-Off, increased his chances, by coming third to grab vital points and a handy £200 in cash.

Dave Morris won Monday night's poker tournament, picking up a cash prize of £700. Runner-up Mick Barlow took £350. Jamie Hackshall ran out third for £240.

Robbie Moubert took his total tournament winnings for the month to just under a grand last night, after sharing the top prize money at the end of Tuesday's £20/£20 poker tournament - and the maximum league points gained by him ensure that he stays high in the table and a certainty for the upcoming Amstedam Play-Off. Third-placed Joe Chattawat netted £200 keeping him inside the top 54 and omn course for a crack at the airline tickets for Holland.

Tony Toms won Wednesday's £25 FreezeOut, besting a field of almost 60 runners to take the first prize of £560 cash. Yus Cusar came second to grab £380. Oliver Ward took third spot for £190.

Annie Henson and Dave Carter shared the top prize money at the end of last night's tournie - each settled for £355 in cash. Gavin Reid Carter ran out third for £200.

Fifty runners for Friday's poker tournie made for a geat night of poker action and very decent prize pool - the bulk of which was shared by winners Eren Sergil (£500); Steve Watts (£460) and Sami Gadd (£460).

Father of the house, Ray Thompson bested a field of almost 70 runners to win our latest El Nino £50 Deep-Stack FreezeOut and bag £800 in cash along with a £200 ticket for our upcoming MAIN EVENT which is scheduled for Friday Novemeber 6th - when once again the guaranteed prize pool will be a staggering £20,000. The triple points picked up by Ray were enough to secure his no.41 position in the table, keeping him on course for shot at those airline tickets for Holland.
Second last night was Yus Cosar (63rd and still well within striking distance) who netted a handy £600 in cash for his night's work. Third spot and £500 went to final table regular Sami Gad who is currently 36th in the league with 770pts.
With two weeks still to run and a whole lot of points still to be won, many of the 54 seats for the Amsterdam Play-Off are still very much up for grabs.

A recent run of form and cashes has resulted in a steady climb up the Amsterdam League table for Jeremy Brown. Last night this run cullminated in a first place taking him to numer 12 spot with 1095pts - along with £460 in prize money. Samir El Husseini (107th-385pts) came second to bag £360. Lobster and Mike Tucknott (71st-520) each picked up £360 in cash. With the Cut-Off points total currently at 670pts, there's still all to play for and the final 54 seats are by no means decided yet.

The Master, The Destroyer and Usha - a formidable line-up of super-heroes and final table specialists - decided against the complete anihilation of the planet and settled instead for a peaceful division of the spoils of war, leaving the defeated earthlings to breath a quiet sigh of relief and continue in their sad, hum-drum existences. The Master took first place and £320; the runners-up each settled for £280.

Winners Mark Cheetham (40th) and Tony Ahmet (59th) shared the top prize money at the end of Thursday's Bounty FreezeOut - each settling for £415 in cash along with some valuable Amsterdam League points. Third spot went to Samir El Huseini (90th) who picked up £190 along with 20 league points. Robbie Moubert (4th) maintained his high postion in the league and The Destroyer continued its remarkable charge up the table - rocketing from nowhere just a couple of weeks ago into number 41 spot in the table on 735pts - 100pts above the current Cut-Off figure of 635pts.

The whole of Purley lies in rubble this morning, after another onslaught on this part of the planet by the one who's name we dare not speak. A brave band of earthlings came to the club last night, hearts filled with hope, determined to stand fast against this abominable threat to world peace and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice - but their efforts were all to no avail, as one by one the 'terror' brushed them aside, crushing their puny bodies and grinding their bones into flour.
Sole survivor of the mayhem, (a bold and clever little fungus), was (alone) still standing tall, as the dust settled in the cardroom - one Marc Mushroom (can that be right?) - who would not yield, shrugging off the prospect of instant death with a careless smile. For this supreme act valour, (unparalleled in the annals of poker history), Marc was rewarded with a half share of the glistering treasure.
Fallen, (but not forgotten - his name forever remembered in the songs), brother in arms Kostas Savvides heroically stumbled at the last, though still managing with his last breath to take down with him 270 gold pieces.

Seventy runners turned up last night for the first of our new Super 75 Double-Chance FreezeOuts - generating a prize pool of over £5,000 and smashing the guarantee. Derrick Brown took the honours, along with maximum Amsterdam League points and £1,500 in prize money. Siamakcame second to claim £1,040. Gary Fluen grabbed third spot and £650.

Mike Carney won Sunday's £30 Semi-FreezeOut poker tournament, claiming a first prize of £680. Nick Cavaday came second to bag £480. Ayshe Hakki ran out third for £350.

The last tournament of the Amsterdam League brought the contest to a fitting crescendo of poker action and generated a prize pool of almost £5,000. At the end of it all, Angelo Milioto was crowned our new club champion, finishing in style on the final table picking up yet more points and a handy £220 in cash - he also wins a £200 Ticket for our upcoming Main Event scheduled for Friday 6th November when the GPP wil once again be a whopping £20,000.
League runner-up David 'The Master' Cheung took the fight for the title right to the end, finishing 4th and bagging £555.
Winner on the night was Jay Patel who picked up £970 in cash along with 260 league points, which cruelly took him to number 55 spot in the table - just one place outside the cut-off.
An in form Sami Gadd was awarded second place, after a deal was cut. He scooped £970 in cash plus a £200 Main Event Ticket.
Former champion Tony Mayers who came third also pocketed £970 in prize money.

Matt Illingworth bagged a first prize of £600 at the end of Tuesday's poker tournie, besting a field of nearly 50 runners. Edmund Haziri came second to grab £330. Third-placed Danny Toffel took £200.

Three more names were added last night to the list of runners for next Friday's Main Event when once again the guaranteed prize pool will be £20,000. The club will be open from 4.00pm onwards on the day for single table satellites and cash games - the Main Event starts at 8.00pm. There will also be another chance to win a ticket next Thursday 5th at the second super-satellite starting at 8.00pm.
