The last Main Event of the year produced a fantastic poker tournament and a bumper prize pool. The big field was played down to a final table of nine, with £300 bubble prizes going to places 10-14. The nine returned the following Sunday evening and by 7.30pm they were down to just three; Paul Linton, Jay Patel and Jamie Walton. After a brief debate, they decided to carve up the top money - each settling for £5,000..
THE BiG ONE ended in the early hours of Sunday morning with the top three places, (John Burberry, Terry Plummer and Mike McDonald), settling on a deal which guaranteed each £4,000 out of the remaining £13,475 prize money. The balance of £1,475 was then played for down to the last two and after Mike had gone out, John and Terry chopped it up. It was John's second major success at the SLiCK this year. Back in February he took first place and a £7,000 prize in our £300 FreezeOut which had £5,000 in added prize money. Terry Plummer can also be very pleased with his night's work, as he won his seat at the event in a recent Super-Satellite and so got his ticket at a highly discounted rate. Another member who will glad he came to the club early this Saturday was Doug-the Slug Alley who played in an afternoon satellite and won his £550 ticket for an outlay of just £65.
